Daily Bible Reading - November 2020 God's Life-Giving Word of Praise and ThanksgivingSýnishorn
November 20
Introduction
The opening verses in today’s reading express dependence on God. The writer acknowledges that God is the source of all blessings. In ancient times, the gift of children provided the family with economic support and help with daily tasks.
Scripture Reading
Psalm 127
Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 127:3
Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a real blessing.
Reflect
Verses 1 and 2 acknowledge that human efforts are useless unless dependence on God is acknowledged. In what ways do you demonstrate your dependence on God? In what ways does your community of faith celebrate the blessing of children? For what will you thank God today?
Pray
Faithful God, you are the source of all things. I can do nothing without you. How thankful I am that you alone are God; I place my trust in you and stand on your holy word. Amen.
Prayer Concern
Parents and children
Tomorrow’s Reading
Psalm 128: A psalm of blessing.
