My Story: Part OneSýnishorn
Lectio Divina
Reading the Bible is important for everyone, but it isn't as easy as reading just any book. The words in your Bible were inspired by the Holy Spirit, so to get the most out of it, you will need the Holy Spirit's help. This ancient practice for reading scripture, known as "Lectio Divina," will help you interact with the living word of God.
Exercise
(This section is here to put action behind your reading. On some days, your reading will be enhanced by "exercising" what you just read).
Before you read today's passages, take some time to consider the following:
- When you hear the words "prophet," "priest," and "king," what do you think of? What images come to mind? What type of people do you see fulfilling these roles?
- What does a prophet do? What about a priest? What about a king?
- Do we have prophets, priests, and kings today (or roles that are similar)? How are they perceived in our communities?
- What factors do you think have contributed to your perception of prophets, priests, and kings?

About this Plan
As a Christian, you may have heard that your identity should be found in Jesus, but have you ever thought about what that actually means? It means that when you chose to believe in Jesus, you chose to make his story, your story. This week, as an introduction to finding your identity, we will first take a look at Jesus' role as prophet, priest and king.
