DAY 5 OF 5

“Loving Others, Despite Societal Status”

Alfred Morris has been a starting running back for the Washington Redskins. Regardless of his fame and status, he doesn’t hesitate in making friends with workers from guest services and stadium security, who some may say are less important. Morris says, “...I’m a person just like anybody else. You’re a person; I’m a person; but just because I play a game, they elevate me. I’m a normal, everyday person; I just happen to play football in the NFL…I ain’t no better than the next person.”

At times, I believe we can all be guilty of treating people better or worse due to their status in society. If we think someone has more significance because of their job, we may treat them differently than someone who has a lower position.

I admit that not showing preference to some people over others isn’t always easy, but let’s be encouraged to love and treat others like Jesus does…regardless of title, prestige or salary.

I’m Bryce Johnson and you can unpack that!
