Chosen One
“Then the Lord said to Noah, ‘Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.’” Genesis 7:1
Being “different” has its perks. God protected Noah in the midst of a storm because of his commitment to honoring God even though it wasn’t popular. Because of Noah’s obedience in an environment where disobedience and worshiping idols were prevalent, Noah made the decision to trust in God and was favored. His obedience awarded him counsel from God in preparing an Ark to protect him and his family from the effects of the debilitating storm.
Like Noah, when we have faith in God and obey His direction, He provides us with all we need. Not only did God protect Noah, but He also rewarded him for his righteousness. At the conclusion of the forty-day flood, only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. It is important to be obedient to God despite what is popular or normal for others. Obedience produces protection, wisdom, rewards, insight, and guidance.
Pray with us: Lord, help us to be obedient and seek things that are pleasing to you. Allow us to listen to your voice. Continually speak through us as we impact people and the world.
