The Ultimate Peace Mission Sýnishorn
The book of Acts, written by Luke, describes the birth and formative years of the Christian Church—the ultimate peace mission. The book of Revelation, written by the apostle John, includes a description of the last days of the Church on earth. They each emphasize God’s sovereignty throughout history, and that He has a plan for His people.
Day 01: Final Instructions
Pray
Lord God, quiet my soul and open my mind and heart to receive your Word. Amen.
Read
Acts 1:1-14
Reflect
Just before Jesus was taken up into heaven, He assured all the apostles that even though they did not know the timing, He would return and restore the Kingdom of Israel. He also assured them that the Holy Spirit would come to them, and would provide guidance regarding what they should do. As Jesus was returning to heaven, what does He say will happen to his followers? What does He expect them to do? What does He expect us to do?
Respond
Heavenly Father, I will be your disciple. I will be a witness for you with everyone, whether the time seems right or not. Amen.
