Real Hope: Walking in WisdomSýnishorn
Walking in Wisdom... In Beige Socks
Robert was an author, evangelist, gifted administrator, and dedicated husband and father. He used words like pulchritude to describe the beauty of a bride, when others chose beautiful or gorgeous. He was possessed of a ready, dry wit, smiling infrequently at his own jokes, and grinning warmly when others made theirs.
Robert was three times my age when he began mentoring me through my teenage turbulences. His personal library was bloated with the thinking and learning of others. While his own volumes took pride of place in homes around the world, they were hidden in the shadowy recesses of his own library.
Robert’s search for God’s voice was not a placid, languid, or theoretical pursuit of God’s wisdom. For him, wisdom was a daily chase. He always seemed to answer the door in beige socks. When trailing behind his slightly stooped frame toward his study, even his walk seemed contemplative. Why do his socks remain so distinct for me today? They speak to a meekness and peacefulness perhaps.
In the social media age, never in man’s history has advice been more readily available. However, advice and wisdom are not interchangeable. God’s wisdom is pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Sometimes wisdom wears beige socks. Who in your life wears beige socks?

About this Plan
All too often we try to navigate this world in our own strength and sometimes it's good to remember that God has left us some help along the way in the form of His Word. This plan is a reminder that when we don't have the answers, God does and we need to learn to trust in Him and His Word to keep us on the right path.
