UNCOMMEN: Confronting Sin

DAY 5 OF 5

Redemption For Our Sin

We just spent the last four days reading about David, his sin, and the consequences of it. But here comes the Good News. We have a Savior who has defeated sin and the grave. He offers forgiveness for all those who believe in Him.

In our focus verses, we see the same David who lied, committed adultery and murder, write Psalm 51.

We are all sinners, but we are not all forgiven of our sin. You have to confess your sins, accept Jesus as your personal Savior, and then your sins will be gone as far as the East is from the West. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, then you are still dead in your sins.

It does matter how we approach sin even after we come to Jesus as we are now called to be like Jesus. We should never get comfortable with sin and should be praying to God for strength and wisdom to overcome the temptations in our lives. To help us rely upon the Holy Spirit in times of weakness and to help guide us with the choices we make, the thoughts we think and the words we speak.

Uncommen Questions:

Have your sins been washed away by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross?

Yes? Do you need to adjust how you approach your view on sin?

Uncommen Challenge:

I challenge you and me to reexamine how we approach sin and the Holy resources that we have at our fingertips, daily. Praise God for being a patient God that shows love and mercy.

Verse References:
Psalm 51:1-4
