Covenant Keeping GodSýnishorn
God Who Is Sovereign
This was the promise that the Lord gave Jacob in Genesis 28 at Bethel. This promise of God was now beginning to take shape. Jacob didn’t seem to be aware of God’s plans. It almost looks like that he had forgotten the breath-taking dream that he had dreamt in Bethel. He was now more concerned in getting Rachel as his wife. To do so he had to follow Laban’s instructions. Jacob kept his side of the transaction. He had always lived his life on the basis of a transactional relationship. Though Jacob got what he wanted, it had taken fourteen years of his life.
The Lord was on the throne, working out His larger purposes, even if Jacob was not really in tune with God’s purposes.
God is the Senior Partner in our lives. He is sovereign. He is creating and fulfilling His purposes and He longs for us to walk in tune with Him. Some of us might have lost sight of God’s bigger purposes. We may have got too involved with the everyday issues of life. These issues may have become larger than life for us. We may be committing ourselves too deeply into these matters. These choices and decisions could be weaving a web around us, in which we feel trapped.
This is the time for us to take some time out and seek a Godly perspective to the issues of life. We must train ourselves to set our sights on things above and not on things of the earth.
Let us remember that the Lord is on the throne, waiting for us to be aligned to His purposes.
Lord, forgive me for my foolishness in running after my own plans. Help me remain in tune with You always.

About this Plan
