Clear Vision: Fulfilling What God Reveals to You by Faith

DAY 4 OF 4

Upon receiving a vision from the Lord, prayer is essential. In the book of Acts, visions are prominent and very closely connected to prayer. In other words, once the early apostles received a vision from the Lord, they would consult God on what to do next. So in our current day, if you or I ever received a vision from the Lord, prayer would definitely be intertwined. The reason is that we would need direction and instructions on how to fulfill the vision.

Let’s take a closer look into the life of Cornelius, a Roman army officer written in the book of Acts. The Bible tells us that Cornelius and his family were God-fearing people. He also gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to the Lord. Suddenly, one day, while Cornelius was praying, he received a vision from the Lord about the apostle Peter.

That vision was to call for Peter to come and visit him. Now, while Cornelius was in another town fulfilling the requirements from the vision he received, the apostle Peter was in Joppa praying to God himself. Then all of a sudden, as he was praying, he fell into a trance and God showed him a vision. It was later made clear that Peter should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean according to their background because he learned that God has no favorites. The Lord was showing Peter that the message about the Good News is for anyone willing to receive Jesus Christ, who died for their sins to forgive and save them. Amen!

So when Peter arrived in Caesarea where Cornelius lived, all who were present heard the Good News about Jesus Christ, believed in Him, received the gift of the Holy Spirit, and were baptized. Amazing, right? So let me ask you a quick question. If God gave you a vision to go to another city or people group to share the Good News, would you do it? As believers, we are all called to share the gospel to whomever or wherever the Lord leads us, just as He did with Peter. We can do this with a clear vision!
