Multiplying Your LifeSýnishorn
Description
Part of what it means to be Together on Mission is that we reach beyond our immediate spheres of influence, beyond our workplace environment and into our community. Kingdom Ventures are those projects or initiatives that will bless the community in some tangible way and have an intentional Gospel message. As you seek the heart of God for your community and explore the needs around you, God will begin to shape your desires and form strategies to accomplish His purposes.
Influencing Our City and the World
It is important to not lose sight of the influence you have on other influential leaders in your community, including those who don’t yet know Christ. You will want to be very intentional about multiplying your influence as well as have an impact on a broader group of people in your city. Sometimes we think we have to sacrifice being evangelistic for being socially aware and active. Other times we think we have to sacrifice societal impact and stick to only sharing the Gospel. The truth, from a Biblical perspective as well as a practical one, is that we can and should do both!
What does it look like to walk “as a child of light?” Who are people you have known whose light shone, their good works were seen, and yet the glory went to God? In Luke 4:14-21, Jesus begins His public ministry by reading from the book of Isaiah. The passage that Jesus was quoting is found in Isaiah 61:1-3. Isaiah 61 continues in verses 3b-4, telling the result of these efforts to build God's Kingdom. Think about the implications of what Jesus said in Luke 4:21, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” What are you called to do and become as a result of Jesus fulfilling this mission of deliverance described in these verses?
