Results Bring Revival
Lesson:
From our 21st-century perspective, it may look odd to us now, but if we read the rest of the Book of Nehemiah, we will be floored by the revival that took place in Israel because of the rebuilt wall around Jerusalem. Once the wall was finished, the law was read by Ezra to the entire population. Festivals were celebrated once again. God and His covenant with the nation of Israel were made known again. There was an overall joy (Nehemiah 8:17). There was a re-commitment (Nehemiah 9:38). And the Lord was made great again in Jerusalem.
What might take place in our time due to our obedience to God’s call? May we never lose sight of the vision that God has given us. Our part of the wall, our part of His Kingdom that He is asking us to care for and to build. Let us truly go forward in raising support with His Great Commission in the forefront of our minds.
