Betrayal Recovery Plan

DAY 1 OF 3

OUR ADVOCATE

Betrayal is a sneaky instrument of darkness. It is inflicted by those who have partnered with the power of hell. If you have experienced it, it was likely something that occurred outside your ability and control. In other words, you had no power to stop what happened to you.

Now is the time to move into recovery mode. I can vividly remember when God initiated this process in my life a number of years ago. It happened after a group left the church that I planted and started talking about me. Not only that, but they began to recruit people to launch another ministry in our backyard. It seemed like a wicked act designed to tear down much of what I had sacrificed to build. The whole episode grieved me, wounded me, and tried to bind me.  One of the things we must realize in the midst of betrayal is the providence of God. He is in charge; we must not forget that.  If we do forget that, we might start defending or retaliating. All that we do, must be for His glory. It is truly not our ministry but His.

"Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain." —PSALM 127:1

He must be the one leading and guiding our every step. All we do must be submitted to Him. Often we are building things in the flesh from desire but not from the leading of the Spirit. When God directs us, He protects us, funds the vision, and fights for us. If it is God’s doing, we do not have to walk in a moment of fear!

"But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who [reverently] fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, To those who honor and keep His covenant, And remember to do His commandments [imprinting His word on their hearts]. The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, and His sovereignty rules over all [the universe]." —PSALM 103:17–19, AMP
