Key Beliefs: Supporting Basic BeliefsSýnishorn
Jesus
The Book of John is one of four books of the Bible that tells the story of Jesus’ life. These books are called Gospels. Here in chapter 1, John introduces Jesus by telling us about His nature. We are told Jesus is eternal and was involved in creation. Of greatest impact for us is the fact that He became a man to be a light to the world and provide a way for us to become God’s children.
Amazingly, the God of the universe would come to earth as a man to die for the sins of the world! This is a great gift of God’s love, but, according to verse 12, we need to accept this gift to become God’s children. Have you done this? If not, this would be a great day to become part of God’s family!
