A Compelling Truth: A 30 Day Journey through Galatians with Rob Stanmore

DAY 26 OF 30

DAY 26

Once we know we are accepted by God, we have an incredible purpose in the present.

In Galatians 6:7-8, Paul gives a stark warning for a fruitful life. He describes the agricultural process of sowing and reaping, where emphasis is placed on the intentionality of what we sow.

What we do today affects what happens in eternity.

Paul describes the power of sin. In verse 8, the original Greek language for the word “destruction” can be translated as “corruption”. The power of sin is that when we sow in sin, it can corrupt what we reap.

This is true for us today. If we choose to sow into the grace-filled life, we will start to see the fruits of the Spirit as in Galatians 5:22-23: "...love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

By choosing and accepting Jesus, we are accepting eternal life and are approved by God.

However, by choosing to attempt to live a ‘good life’ by works alone, without Jesus, we are disconnected from God.

Choosing Jesus has huge eternal significance and purpose for our present.

Questions

(1) What is one fruit of the Spirit you would like to grow in?

(2) How could you sow into this fruit to grow in this more?
