Ending Well

DAY 3 OF 3

Your Purpose Remains

“He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of his life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.” Psalms 1:3 TPT

This is God’s heart for us even in our last season of life. Flourishing. Planted. Deeply rooted. Bearing fruit. His purpose for us from the beginning was to love Him, and from that love, to fiercely love others—leaving behind us a rich legacy of faithfulness and love.

From the deep roots of God’s Word and your union with Him, your faith is a living example to others, a reflection of His glory expressed through your unique personality and giftings. You have characteristics which have been developed by experience and tempered by many trials. You’ve had vast opportunities to grow in compassion and mercy. Grace now has a deeper meaning, love is richer, and you can fully testify to the faithfulness of God. You are making eternal deposits into a lasting legacy of life and love.

Even if you are shut in your home, you are still a Kingdom builder. Your purpose of loving others is lived out through phone calls or texts, keeping relationships alive and healthy, and sharing encouragement and truth. And the very best position we can have as an elder is on our knees (or in our chair), praying for this generation and the ones to follow.

The seasons change, but your purpose remains. Ask God to help you appreciate this season, even if it’s not where you ever wanted to be. Instead of focusing on what is lost and changed, focus on what you can do, on what you do have. Instead of having regrets over the past, remember that His mercies are new every morning and waking up is a good thing!

You are still here and He is not yet finished with you! Ask God to make your purpose come alive for you. Then, step forward with courage and watch Him multiply all He’s given you.

From His spirit deep within, you can choose to live each day of this final season with fervency, joy, and great expectancy.

“I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover.” Philippians‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭TPT‬‬

About this Plan

Ending Well

We are now the older generation: the seniors, the elders, the aged. While we knew it would happen, it came far too soon. In this season, the question we need to ask is, "How do I end well?" Spend a few days with Robin Meadows to see what God’s word has to say about our purpose in these last years.
