Make The Cross Your Center
We need to evaluate our PACE and our PERSPECTIVE, and make the centerpiece of our lives the CROSS of Jesus Christ. That is the centerpiece of our triangle. Jesus is our ultimate example of perfect pace and perfect perspective. When He walked into a place, He did so at the right time. When He walked out of a place, He did so at the right time. He did not heal everyone in every city He went into, He healed those who needed to be healed. He did not perform all the miracles people wanted Him to do, He performed those miracles He needed to perform.
In that pace, He gave us the right perspective, the perspective of the Cross. At the Garden of Gethsemane, when Jesus said, “Not My will, but Yours be done,” He chose to see things through God’s perspective. Even on the cross, He could have ended His torment and won that battle in a totally different way, but He chose to look at things with the right perspective and win the battle through His resurrection.
The resurrection was the victorious aspect of the battle, not the angels coming and taking Him off the cross. It was the resurrection that was the victory. His perspective was further along than what the disciples had. Our pace and our perspective should always be based on the cross of Jesus Christ.
How do we have the right perspective? By knowing Jesus as our Savior and making His cross the centerpiece of our life. Have you trusted in Christ? Jesus, who had the perfect pace and perspective, died for us so that we could place our faith in Him. When we give Him control of our lives, our perspective changes. We have a totally different perspective. Our lives are about the things of God. We are no longer walking on a broad road, but a narrow road. We no longer have only salty water to drink, but the fresh, living water of Jesus Christ. We no longer have an earthly perspective, but a heavenly one. We welcome God’s work in our hearts even in trials and pain. Our pace and our perspective are based upon the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.
Thought of the Day: Have you made the cross of Jesus Christ the centerpiece in your life?

About this Plan
Every new year is a God-given opportunity for us to evaluate our lives and do what we are called to do as His children—love Him and love people. A new year brings a new opportunity to evaluate our pace and our perspective based on the cross and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us all.
