DAY 16 OF 31

Glow!

Rex Stump

Ready:

“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16

Set:

I’ve discovered a new sport! Glow golf! It’s miniature golf with black lights and a glow-in-the-dark course! To maintain a consistent glowing golf ball, you must place your ball in the charging unit located at every other hole. Eventually, the glow would decrease, requiring another charge.

In Exodus 34, Moses had gone up to the mountain to meet with God. When Moses came off the mountain, His face was glowing because he had been in the presence and glory of God. The radiance of his face was a reflected radiance from the glory of God. It was like dropping a golf ball into a charging unit – His face became radiant!

We later discover that Moses would put a veil over his face when he would meet with the people. Paul said the purpose was to hide the diminishing glory of his face (2 Corinthians 13:3). Like that glow in the dark golf ball, Moses was losing the glow.

What was the charging unit for Moses? The presence of God! Just like Moses, we need to be in the presence of God on a consistent basis. There is no possible way we can reflect the radiance of God unless we spend time with Him.

Thanks to our relationship with God and His Holy Spirit, the peace, joy, and love of God should be evident on the face of everyone who follows Jesus Christ. As believers in Jesus Christ, I pray that we glow in a way that reflects the radiant glory of God to a dark world.

Go:

1. How often do you spend time alone with God?

2. What is your game plan for consistently meeting with God?

Workout:

  • Exodus 34:29-35
  • 2 Corinthians 4:5-7
  • Philippians 2:12-15

Overtime:

“Heavenly Father, I ask that Your Holy Spirit radiates in my life! Help me to shine for You! Help me to light up a dark world with Your truth and light. Amen.”
