Life on Mission Sýnishorn
Giving, Going, Praying, or Disobeying
A life on mission means you’re either giving, going, praying or disobeying. Do you know what the Bible tells us to do? It says, “Again, I say rejoice.”
Giving, going, praying or disobeying: You only get a medal for the top three, okay? We get jewels on our crown and eternal rewards for the top three. We don’t want to be disobeying.
You are going to have an opportunity to give. It might be to a church or an organization, or maybe you will meet a missionary whom you will be able to give to.
You will also encounter an opportunity to go. It may be a temporary mission trip, or it may be for a few years. The Spirit will guide you. There are many churches that have websites on their mission trips. God may be calling you to start looking for one soon. Go! Go as you are called to go.
As a Type A personality, I love checkmarks. I can pray and check off every missionary I place on my prayer list. The reality is that not all of us can go on every single mission trip, nor sponsor everyone we know who is going, but we can pray. Pray for the missionaries who you know are out there spreading the Word.
Out of these three things, one will be your priority. Your heart will know whether, at this moment in your life, you are supposed to give, go, or pray. One will be a priority. Through life, I encourage you to do all three of these things but allow one to be a priority. Take your family and children on mission trips. Do not take your children to Disney World every year without ever taking them to see the world. Epcot is not missions, okay? It’s awesome and great but take them to see something else. We must balance all these things. Also teach your family to give and to pray for missionaries.
This is part of being a follower with a life on mission. God loves the nations. As followers, we have to love the nations. We experience great joy when we support, love, and live a life on mission.

About this Plan
Did you know that as followers of Christ, our hearts should love the nations? Jesus desires that we love missions as He does. As believers in Christ, we were created to spread the good news and through the Holy Spirit we are able to do so. In this plan, Pastor Gregg Matte gives three statements that will help you understand more about how we can live a life on mission.
