I Need a Miracle

DAY 4 OF 6

Miracles Prove His Power

Miracles prove is that Jesus has the ultimate power. Christ has power over the wind and the waves. He controls the weather. Jesus Christ can say, “Lazarus, arise.”

He is stronger than death. Jesus Christ can say, “Pick up your mat and walk,” because He’s got the power over the physical body. He can heal the blind. He can say, “We need wine? Take that water and fill the jugs. We are going to make it into wine. Do we need food? Give me some loaves and some fish and I am able to do this.”

Jesus Christ has ultimate power over anything, and that is a powerful thing for us to understand. To be believers and followers of Christ, we must understand that Christ sits above all things. He is not just your buddy who is a little bit better than you. He has ultimate power over all the world. It says so in Colossians. Jesus is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together. He is God in the flesh.

Miracles also prove that Jesus acts on our behalf. Isn’t that amazing? Personally, I love this: Jesus acts on your behalf because He loves you. He cares for you. Does this mean He answers every prayer? No. But He acts on your behalf. Many times, we think that everything with Him is one-sided. We feel that it’s just us acting on God’s behalf. It’s me, going to church. Me, sharing my faith. Me, stopping my cussing. Me, having to be nice. Me, having to forgive. It’s me, doing everything to follow Jesus.

Be encouraged by knowing that Jesus is operating on your behalf. It is absolutely not one-sided. We have made obedience kind of a bad word, haven’t we? Obedience sounds like slave and master. It sounds like dog owner and dog. And we feel like, “Oh, I’m supposed to be obedient.” Obedience is actually the greatest blessing of your life. It will protect you and open up the windows of Heaven to bless you. As we are obedient to Him, our experience is no longer one-sided. God’s got you! He is acting on your behalf through the miracles in your life and your answered prayers. Now, I’m not saying, “If you do this, God’s going to do this.” That is not the way it works. It’s all grace. Jesus has done far more for you and me than we will ever do for Him. If He has not answered a prayer, rest in knowing that He knows exactly what you need. He loves and cares for you so much. He will always want the best for you.

About this Plan

I Need a Miracle

Do you believe in miracles? John said that Jesus performed many miracles that were never written down. However, the ones that we do get to read about were written so that we could believe that Jesus is indeed the Miracle Messiah. Join us on this plan to grow your faith and belief that miracles continue to exist in this day and age.
