Now Hope

DAY 1 OF 13

Now Hope

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future …’

I will never forget landing in Auckland as a 32 year-old with my wife Maree. At the time, we had three young boys, the oldest of whom was five, and had just left behind the security we had known in Australia for over 10 years. Six months earlier, we’d had clear sense of God’s call to start a church in New Zealand. Although this seemed far beyond our natural ability, we had responded with an unqualified yes, in the hope of seeing God’s harvest.

Almost 30 years on, LIFE has multiple campuses and large-scale impact both here in New Zealand and overseas. Yet establishment of this vision has not always been straightforward. The hope we carried deep down was challenged by many unexpected realities along the journey. I am convinced that we would not have experienced this harvest if we had not made the choice to activate our hope in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

Join me as we unpack what it means to cultivate the kind of hope that builds faith and brings a harvest in your life.

About this Plan

Now Hope

Faith, hope and love, they always seem to go together. We hear lots about faith and love, but what about hope - the link which holds this chain together? While the world’s understanding of ‘hope’ is something insubstantial, the Bible’s descriptions of it – hope as an anchor, hope as a helmet – are anything but! Decide to activate hope today and discover how it leads you into God’s tomorrow.
