Flip or Flop: Change Your Situation With Praise

DAY 3 OF 5

YOU HAVE A CHOICE

There are days in everyone’s life when it seems hard to praise and thank God. Hebrews 13:15 admonishes us: “…let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Some days it really is a sacrifice -- days when you’re struggling or feeling down.

Maybe you’re feeling tired or hopeless – maybe it seems like God has let you down or just doesn’t seem care about your troubles. Maybe something terrible has happened, and you’re reeling from the pain of it.

I understand those days—I’ve been there too. When my first husband died suddenly at age 37, I felt completely lost, not knowing what to do next—I was numb. I know what it feels like to have the bottom fall out of your world.

But here’s what I learned. Every day, you and I have a choice to thank God. No matter how dark it looks, there is always something to thank Him for. And once you start, something happens in your heart and you start to realize that no matter what you face, God is working.

Praise releases the supernatural power of God. When you praise Him, you start to have hope, and then faith, that you’re going to come out on top.
