Day 3 – God remembers Cornelius
Reflect
We can appreciate Cornelius's utter shock at having an angel suddenly appear before him and call him by name. That certainly obtained his attention, but more importantly - Cornelius's prayers and gifts to the poor had gained God's attention!
There are other instances in the New Testament such as the widow's mites (Lk 21:1-4) and the lavish anointing of Christ (Mk 14:8-9) where the gift received God's attention. In these instances, it was not so much about the gift as it was the heart-motive behind the giving that rose up like a sweet offering to God.
Respond
What precious offering of my heart can I give to God during this time of prayer and fasting? What can I do to demonstrate my love for Him?
