Memory verse for January 12-18: 2 Timothy 3:16–17

January 13

Read

Psalm 100

Reflect

As we begin this new year with renewed focus on God and his Word, let’s remember to rejoice. Our God is a God of joy and has promised to share that joy with his children (see John 15:11). Our good, gracious God is worth getting to know—and our hope is that each new year will bring us closer to him. Let 2020 be a year in which you invite others to know God. And the best place to start getting to know him is in his Word.

Engage

Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions.

· What does it say about God?

· What does it say about us?

· Is there a promise to trust?

· Is there a command to obey?

· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?

· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?

Memorize

Now read this week’s memory verse, 2 Timothy 3:16–17. Spend a few minutes beginning to memorize it.
