Face Your Impossible

DAY 2 OF 4

Day 2 –Silence Doubt and Take Action

Dare you believe that this sea before you – this impossibility – is God’s will? Could it be a test of your faith, a challenge to believe?

Most people would turn back. Most people would cry and complain. The Israelites would have more readily gone back into slavery than believe God for a miracle. But Moses believed God.

He silenced their voices of doubt and told them, “Do not be afraid…The Lord will fight for you.” (Exodus 14:13, 14)

Are you engulfed in fear? Are voices of doubt and anxiety stealing all your courage? Within and without, it’s time to silence those voices. Turn a deaf ear to them and let God’s word encourage your heart.

Moses stood firm. He was not swayed by the churning waters nor dismayed by the fast-approaching enemy. He believed God despite the very real and desperate situation he faced. And God took that bit of faith in Moses and commanded action. “Lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it.” Exodus 14:16

It was a simple act of faith. But the simple lifting of the rod that was in his hand was all God needed to work the impossible. It triggered a series of events as God moved through Moses’ faith and obedient action.

Listen closely. What is God whispering to you above the wind and waves?

Relook at what is in your hand – the gifts, the talents, the resources and relationships at your disposal. What do you have in your grasp? What action is God commanding you to take?

Silence the fear, obey his word and see what the Lord will do. Just as with Moses, your faith and obedient action opens the way for God to do miraculous things.
