DEFCON 2: Armed and Ready
In DEFCON 3, we saw an elevation in readiness. Here in DEFCON 2, we are putting on the Armor of God and getting ready for battle.
What stood out to me and should to you is we are instructed to put on the WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD so we may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Do you wear the whole armor of God?
- Belt of Truth
- Breastplate of Righteousness
- Shoes of peace
- Shield of Faith
- Helmet of Salvation
- Sword of the Spirit
I don’t know about you but I never seem to have all my gear on at the same time. But I’m called to have it all on to be ready for battle or I will be vulnerable to spiritual attacks. Attention toward God and His Word will help me put on the whole armor and stand against the evil one. As I spend time in the Word of God I begin to put on the full armor and when I don’t spend time in the Word I seem to take it off.
Like Peter walking on water, if he would have just kept his eyes on Jesus, the water wouldn’t have been a problem. As soon as he took his focus off of Jesus he began to sink.
What a glorious sight it would be for a world of Christians in the full armor of God and in His service. I guess that is reserved for the heavenly realm but it sure is nice to think about it.
Uncommen Questions:
Do you have on the full armor of God?
If not, what do you need to start doing to be ready for battle?
Uncommen Challenge:
I challenge you to take some time and go through each part of the armor and identify if you are wearing it at this moment or not. If not, what can you do to put on that part?

About this Plan
If you are familiar with the DEFCON (defense-ready condition) levels, they range from 5 to 1, with one being “Sound the Alarm” we are at WAR! Join us as we look at what the Bible has to say about being ready for our daily battles. While we may not be able to see them, we are all in a Spiritual War at this very moment! Are you ready?
