Christmas Promises FulfilledSýnishorn
God is a God of promise. When He says He’s going to do something, He does it! And what is so amazing about God’s promises is that they are generational. God doesn’t limit His promises to just the present, but He looks forward into our future. Sometimes we can worry about how our future will turn out. Is anything going to go wrong? Will our children be alright? Will we have enough to get by? In this Scripture, we see the interaction between God and David. God is not only reassuring David about his future but also about the future of generations to come in his family line beyond Solomon. When we know our future is secure and taken care of, then there is a peace that comes into our hearts. When peace rules our hearts, there is an atmosphere change over our lives. Confidence spills out of us and people like to be around someone who is confident.
It’s so pleasant doing life with someone who isn’t worried about their future because they know God’s good plans for them. These plans are so good that our future would involve the redemption of mankind through Jesus Christ. He fulfilled His word. He kept His promise to David and He keeps His promise to us. Today, I want to remind you about the promises that God has spoken over your life. Whilst the wait can sometimes be arduous, God will keep His word. Psalm 119:50 tells us ‘Your promise revives me; comforts me in times of trouble.’ Let your soul be revived and may you see all the promises fulfilled in God’s word as a testament to you that if God did it before, He will do it again!
Prayer
Dear Father,
I thank You today that You are concerned about my future and that You have planned a good future for my family and me. I am thankful that You are true to Your word and that You always keep Your promises. While I wait to see these promises become a reality, I let go of all the stress and worry, and I cast all of my cares upon You. I receive Your peace and I place my faith and trust in You that You will come through for me.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.
