The Thrill of Hope
The baby arrived, met the world with a cry.
My soul was elated, triumphant and high.
His arms spread wide grasping, limbs tense with release
From womb to the world, His tears bid ours to cease.
I reached for him gently, His whole frame relaxed.
While cradling His head, “What a wonder!” I gasped.
I felt something prick me and picked up a nail.
The black iron spike’s meaning time would unveil.
Though savoring moments of unbridled joy,
They came with a cost for sin’s grasp to destroy.
I thank Him with praise and devotion and love
What marvelous grace that He came from above!
About this Plan
In this devotional written from the perspective of Jesus' mother, Mary vulnerably and honestly details the intimate moments of her experience as a mom. In each compelling scene, Mary treasures a small token to remember it by. Little does she know the divine significance each item will play in the ultimate purpose of her son’s role on earth.
