In All Circumstances

DAY 2 OF 12

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

The work of a mom is never done. Think about it: cooking, cleaning, carpool, helping with homework, shopping, yard work, discipline, counseling, piano lessons, soccer practice, teaching manners, bedtime routine, and so much more. Moms often feel overwhelmed and under-appreciated. But, take heart! Your work is not in vain and it is extremely valuable. Whether your family gives you praise or not, whether the world sees your worth or not- God sees everything you do and He knows that what you are doing is valuable and good. The job of a mom is the hardest work you will ever do, but it also has eternal value.

Moms, you are training up the next generation. You are shaping and molding little minds, encouraging them, teaching them, instilling morals and values that will last a lifetime. You are teaching your child how to be responsible, how to value another human being, how to love and take care of those less fortunate and how to be kind and gentle. The world may devalue your work as a mom but don’t listen to them. You are doing a great work. Feel good about yourself today as you do your mothering duties and know that your labor in not in vain.

Father,

Thank you Lord for blessing me with my children and for giving me this huge responsibility of being a mom. God, I pray that I will not be discouraged in my role of a mother, but would embrace each season and see the true blessing that it is. Give me wisdom to know how to parent in a Godly way and give me a passion to do my job well.
