Mary the Faithful
Read the Bible reference before starting so you can answer the following questions. You may want to put the story into your own words, e.g. Mary was visited by an angel to tell her that she was going to have a baby. This wasn’t any normal baby though, this baby was to be the Son of God, Jesus.
- Ask: What promises does the angel make about Jesus?
- Ask: What was Mary’s reaction? (She trusts what the Angel has said.)
- Ask: How do you think you might react to a visit from an angel?
- Ask: It seemed impossible for Mary to give birth to God’s son but as we read in Luke 1:37, ‘God can do anything’. What seemingly impossible things are you struggling with this week that you need God’s help with?
- Pray: Imagine standing in front of a situation that you’re struggling with. Imagine looking at it and asking God to help. Then imagine Jesus walking towards you, right through the middle of your problem. Imagine him coming right up to you until you can hear him whisper in your ear, “with me, all things are possible.” Then imagine him holding your hand and walking you through that situation.
- Pray: Thank you God that you can do anything. Please help us to call on you when we are finding things impossible to do on our own. Amen.
- Thank God for being with you in your family Treasure Hunt.
