Your Journey To GratitudeSýnishorn
DAY ONE: Evaluate Yourself
I am convinced that the cause of many of life’s failures is that we, as human beings, lack exceeding gratitude for our Creator.
In acknowledging that we owe our life to the Creator of life, we are expressing dependence on another, which is uncomfortable to our independent minds. However, if we admit the fact that we did not create ourselves, it follows that we cannot know the purpose for which we exist without consulting with the Creator. If we choose to go blindly through life without acknowledging our dependence on our Maker, we are doomed to live in the misery of ingratitude.
I invite you to personally evaluate your level of appreciation for the gift of life, and the giver of life, as you continue to read this devotional. To know the satisfaction of discovering your eternal destiny—the divine purpose for which you were born—demands such an evaluation. Take the challenge to consider your lack of gratitude, first for the Creator, and then for each aspect of the wondrous gift of life He has given you to enjoy.
In such honest confrontation, you do not need to fear anything.
