Surrender: "The Key to Victory"
When two armies are at war and one of the armies wants to give up because they realize that they are defeated, they wave a white flag; or when a boxer is taking a beating in the ring, and the corner wants to stop the fight, they throw in the white towel. In this case, meaning your life, you are the one with the white flag/towel in your hand, and you and only you have the power to wave it or throw it in. That’s called surrendering, and surrendering is the key to YOUR VICTORY!
- The word surrender means to give up, abandon, relinquish or to just let go.
• Who or what has you not surrendering?
• What do you think about a person who gives up?
• What’s the hardest area for you to surrender?
• Do you know when you’re defeated?
So many good people I encounter each day struggle with the idea of surrendering. It is almost as if we have developed barriers around our hearts that keep the world at an emotional distance. Recognizing those obstacles that stand in your way is the first step toward a strong faith that you can surrender. One of the key obstacles to surrendering is PRIDE. We may not all admit this, but all of us have this in abundance. The good news is there is a known cure called HUMILITY. Without a doubt, it will take a humble person to surrender one Bad Lifestyle for a Better Lifestyle.
We could divide our troubles or difficulties into three groups: 1) physical problems, 2) difficulties caused by our mistakes or by intentional or unintentional actions of others, and 3) spiritual attacks from the outside. Troubles are common to all! Whether we face trials from spiritual attacks or battles with our human weaknesses or physical problems, we all have troubles! Not to speak of the mistakes that we make, or suffering from the effects of the mistakes of others, and so on. No matter what problems you face, always remember that there is a KEY TO VICTORY.
- The word victory means the ultimate and decisive superiority in any battle, a successful outcome of a struggle.
• Who do you know that was victorious over something?
• What successful outcomes have you had?
• Where can you get the keys to gain a victory?
• Do you back down from battles or trials?
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." – Oliver Wendell Holmes
This habit is based on the principle of Personal Leadership, which means you decide what you want; you lead yourself into the direction you choose. There are always two creations of everything that we do: The first is the creation of our mind; it’s in our heads and not yet materialized. That’s where you develop an action plan and execute it the best way possible to get THE VICTORY.
About this Plan
If you are in bondage to something and it seems that you can’t overcome it, then this plan was designed with you in mind. Michael Williams Jr. was in bondage to drugs for 22 years, then one day he totally surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit then led him to make some “Minor Adjustments,” which he recorded with the hope that it’ll help you in your deliverance.
