c.AD 96 John sees a vision while in prison on Patmos Island (off western Turkey) and, being careful not to offend Roman authorities, reports his vision giving special messages to seven current and future churches. Each is warned to listen to the Holy Spirit. John is invited into heaven and sees the Lord God sitting on His throne.
