Exult in Salvation
My soul shall rejoice in the Lord; it shall exult in His salvation. –Psalm 35:9
In 1 Thessalonians 5:8, the apostle Paul instructed believers to put on salvation as a helmet. In other words, thinking about the great gift God has given us protects us from spiritual onslaughts.
So today, consider: have you ever truly thought about all your salvation entails? Yes, Jesus has forgiven your sins, and you have everlasting life in heaven. That’s an extremely important aspect of our redemption. But many believers stop there in their under-standing. Even worse, that definition of salvation can be repeated so often that we become numb to all it really means.
You were spiritually dead and separated from God. Now you are spiritually alive and united with Him so intimately that His Holy Spirit inextricably indwells you. You have a new eternal purpose, identity, and family. You now possess the incredible capacity to receive God’s wisdom, strength, and power, and to be a conduit of His glory. Knowing that should make a tremendous difference in your life!
Ephesians 1:3 affirms that you’ve been “blessed . . . with every spiritual blessing . . . in Christ.” So today, protect your mind and encourage your heart by considering all that Jesus has done.
Jesus, help me to realize the fullness of what You’ve done in salvation. Thank You for redeeming me. Amen.
My hope is in Jesus because He saves me in ways too numerable to count.
