Lay Aside Every WeightSýnishorn
Lay Aside Every Weight.
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1 KJV
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “Weight” is, ‘ogkos’ (G3591) which means, “Bulk, mass, burden, or an encumbrance.” Let the burdens of the past go. Let the weight of the past go. Cast your cares to Him and run your race.
Lay aside every weight that can so easily distract you. Every weight was meant to slow you down from fulfilling God‘s Purpose for your life. Cast the weight. Be determined to shed the weight. Let the past go. That weight you keep worrying about was meant to distract and derail your focus. Focus on God. Focus on your God-given assignment. Choose to worship God and not the weight that so easily beset you.
What are you worrying about? What has caught the attention of your heart? Give God your heart. Surrender to Him and let God break you free from the bondage of the past. Weights and worries were meant to crush you. Weights were meant to lay on your mind causing you to toil day and night. God is bigger than your weight. He’s bigger than your worries and concerns. Cast your cares over to Him and He will release you from the weight of the past.
