30 Days Of Emotional HealthSýnishorn
I hadn't planned it this way, but God knew what I needed to hear precisely when I needed to.
I’d hit some pretty significant challenges that left me questioning my calling and God’s hand in it. My inclination was to mope and retreat.
But then I learned my precious friend was dealing with something much more significant. She was awaiting news that had the capacity to level her family. This fact added power to her words.
She said, "Recognize this moment, where you're at, is good."
In 1 Timothy 6:6, Paul said it this way: “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”
Contentment. A state at being at peace, regardless of one’s circumstances. It’s recognizing that where we’re at is good, because God is good.
And He’s sovereign—over our circumstances and our lives.
Consider that in light of whatever you are or might soon be facing, and consider it in light of God's character.
If you’re honestly trying to follow God, then wherever He has for you in this moment, is good.
If you’re struggling right now, know this: You did nothing wrong. You're not being punished. God's not done with you, or displeased. To the contrary, He's passionately in love with you and only has your absolute best in mind. Even in the hard, disappointing, or painful.
Live in the good of now. Soak up every blessing and don't let the hard or disappointing blind you to the beautiful. And no matter what, hold tight to this: God will never leave you, and He will never fail you.
So relax, trust, and keep moving forward, remaining fully present in the present.
