Thy Word Have I HidSýnishorn
Protect His Word.
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:11 KJV
What’s in the ground of your heart? What’s in the fabric of your heart? What do you choose to treasure? Who do you choose to treasure? Do you treasure God’s Word? Do you value His Word over your cares, concerns, worries and desires?
In Psalms 119:11, David chose to hide God’s Word within the walls of his heart. According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word for ‘Hide’ is ‘tsaphan’ (H6845) which means: “to treasure or to store up”. What have you treasured? What memories have you stored up within the borders of your heart? Bitterness? Rejection? Condemnation? Shame or guilt from the past? Choose to treasure God’s Word and soften the walls of your heart. Let the voice of God outweigh the opinions of man.
Choose to value and treasure what God’s Word says about you. Let God build the framework of your heart. Choose to value and prioritize His Word over the opinions of man. Protect, guard and keep His Word close to your heart. Let His Word penetrate the depths of your soul and feed your spirit.
Your soul is composed of your mind, will, emotions and intellect. Choose to let the Word of God navigate your mind, lead your will, regulate your emotions and sharpen your intellect. Hide, protect and treasure God’s Word in every facet of your life.
