The Lord Who Heals You

DAY 8 OF 21

GOD’S PERSPECTIVE BRINGS HIS POWER

John 11:40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

Did He not say He is the Healer? Did He not say that He took our sicknesses and pains on the Cross and that if we will believe and see what He has done, we will see His glory and power manifest.

John 11 recounts the raising of Lazarus from the dead. This story displays so many contrasts between the natural perspective of people and God’s radically different perspective, and it is always His perspective which brings His power. Verses 9 and 10 speak of the two perspectives- to walk in the light is to walk in the revelation of God’s perspective and in the night, your own perspective and fears. If we walk in revelation, we won’t stumble; if we walk in fear or our limited understanding, we will.

John 11 starts with Mary and Martha calling for Jesus to come to their sick brother Lazarus. They loved God and God loved them (verse 3-5)- just because Lazarus got sick doesn’t mean that God didn’t love him or that he didn’t love God or that Lazarus had done anything wrong.

Jesus declares ‘“This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

Now Lazarus did die before being raised up. There was a time when it didn’t look like this prophetic word was coming to pass if you are only looking at the circumstances and not at what Jesus said.

Martha and Mary, like so many Christians have said- “God if You had come, this wouldn’t have happened; where were You? (vs 37) Why didn’t You respond?” When we don’t see God for who He is and what He has done, we end up accusing God for what we perceive (see) He’s failed to do for us, despite His incredible sacrifice and victory at the Cross.

When we see Him as He is, the Healer, the One who did come and deal with sickness for us, the One who cared enough to suffer on our behalf, then we are positioned for His power to come.

About this Plan

The Lord Who Heals You

Jesus provided healing for us just as much as forgiveness through His finished work of the Cross. God has not made this difficult to receive but a simple faith that focuses on seeing Jesus and what He has already done for you, positions you for the power of God that is enough to heal 'every kind of sickness and every kind of disease'.
