Jesus Revealed Pt. 14 - It Is ALL In Jesus!Sýnishorn
Jesus shows us the Father
Thoughts on the Passage
Do you see the Father when you see Jesus?
For many years I loved Jesus but I only honored the Father. To me the Father was a holy, austere (often frowning at my failures), powerful judge but still someone who really wanted me to do well. I felt uncomfortable around Him. Jesus was different. He was my Saviour, my Friend, and my comfort. If I needed anything, I knew that if I asked anything of Jesus, then He would help me through it because He loved me so much.
One day, I heard God speak and it shook my world. The Father asked me this question: “when you see Jesus do you see Me?” Suddenly, I realized what this passage meant. Everything I see in Jesus is revealing the heart of my Father. Jesus is the perfect reflection of the Father. Even more, Jesus is the PRESENCE of the Father in my world. Jesus and the Father are one. This truth just keeps getting bigger and bigger in my life. The presence of Jesus is the presence of the Father. The presence of the Spirit is the presence of the Father. It changed my life. Let this truth keep growing in your life and it will change everything you do.
The privilege of being in the presence of the King is the right to ask and receive. It is not the privilege to ask for foolish things. That dishonors the King. It is not the privilege to ask for unwise things. That mocks His nature. The privilege is to ask for good things. The authority of the King gives us His blessing to ask and expect to receive. Jesus instructs us to ask in His name and the Father will give good things. Take time in His presence today. Start with worship, prayer, learning His heart by reading His Word… and then ask.
Application
Take some time in the Father’s presence. Go into His presence as a child into the presence of King over all creation. He knows what you need, but He wants to hear us ask. He wants us to ask for every good thing that we need.
Ask… in Jesus name.
Time to Pray
Father, today I come into Your presence and I start needing some rest. I am a bit tired today and overwhelmed by the needs of brothers and sisters. Some of them have needs that only You can address. Some have needs of a little child where the Father takes care of all their needs. Others need instruction on how to ask, how to release blessings that give them a hope and a future. Others just need to know that You are happy with them and love them dearly. That is me today. I just need to know that I am loved by You, that today nothing will separate me from Your love. Other days I will come with a specific request, but not today. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
