Purpose, Passion And Potential

DAY 3 OF 3

POTENTIAL WITH CHRIST

Jesus’s parable of the mustard seed is familiar to many Christians and, while it speaks of the Kingdom of God, the lesson it imparts regarding the potential of a tiny mustard seed can apply to many situations. He uses the example of a mustard seed once again when he shares how even that tiny amount of faith can move mountains. The Son of God was known for his potential in more than his metaphors as well. He fed 5,000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, he took common men as his disciples and turned them into the fisher of men, he gave his life to pay the price of the sin of billions for centuries and centuries to come.

Potential takes a whole new meaning when you combine it with Christ. You and I are blessed to have access to that kind of potential in order to fulfil God’s purpose. But how do we play our part in tapping into this potential? We make sure that whenever we make decision or take actions, we do so prayerfully and with Christ in mind.

2 Timothy 1:7 shares that God doesn’t want us to be timid. Instead, he’s given us a spirit of power, love, discipline, self-control and a calm and well-balanced mind. When we hold on to these gifts of his spirit – nothing is impossible.

In our daily lives as we face both old and new hardships on our journey to discover our potential with Christ, let’s hold close the fact that nothing is impossible for a Savior who raised the dead, healed the sick, loved the lost and wants us to experience all these miracles as well.
