Six Days With SpurgeonSýnishorn
John 15:9 "Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love."
As the Father loves the Son, Jesus loves you. It’s in the same manner of love that the Father God gives toward Jesus Christ that Jesus has for you. We can discover more about this love when we examine it closely. For starters, the Father loved Jesus without a beginning to this love. As such, there is no beginning to Jesus’ love for you. We read about this love in Jeremiah 31:3 where it says, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore, with loving kindness have I drawn you.”
You can trace the start of human affection. You can easily pinpoint the beginning of your love for Jesus. But His love for you? It is a stream whose source will remain hidden for all eternity.
Another aspect of the Father’s love for Jesus which is reflected in Jesus’ love for you is that the Father’s love does not change. You can take comfort in this truth. There is no change in Jesus’ love toward those who rest in Him. Whether you are on the pinnacle of popularity by the world’s standards or in the valley of humiliation, it matters not. Jesus loves you all the same.
If you hear His sweet voice marked by notes of love when life seems calm and your days seem bright, you can also rest assured that His voice of love remains on the stormiest of seas. Even when all the waves and billows toss you to and fro, Jesus’ heart remains faithful to His choice of loving you.
