The Magnificence Of Christ In The Psalms

DAY 3 OF 30

The God Who Avenges Me

Dear Father, This Scripture reminds me of what the prophet says in Nahum 1:2-3 about the anger of the Lord: “The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and vents his wrath against his enemies. The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.” I continue to rejoice that the Lord Jesus Christ ultimately fulfills all the attributes and purposes of the Godhead, including being the God Who Avenges Me.

I am very grateful that the enemies of His people are His enemies too. I thank Him that He saves and rescues me and all of David’s descendants from our enemies forever. He is completely wise, good, just and kind to us! I pray that You will constantly remind us to praise Him among the nations for all He is, and for all He does for us. I pray that whenever our enemies are trying to subdue us, the God Who Avenges Me will do whatever is necessary to avenge us and eventually transform them. At the same time, I pray Your Spirit will cleanse our hearts of all sin that is hindering that avenging and transforming process. In the righteous name of Jesus I plead these things.

About this Plan

The Magnificence Of Christ In The Psalms

Each daily devotional has a different name or attribute of God from the Psalms that is ultimately fulfilled in Christ. You will read the Psalm with Christ's name in it, then worship Him and pray for His Lordship of your life based upon His name of the day. Hopefully, this will help you know Christ more and love Him more. All Scripture used is from the NIV Bible.
