6 Days Of Esther

DAY 6 OF 6

When you look at the life of Esther, you see an orphan girl. You see the odds stacked against her. You see her being part of the wrong race. You see her life and people being in jeopardy. And yet, when the story ends you see a Cinderella story that is transforming, encouraging, and challenging for you and me. What you see is the providential hand of God.

It reminds me of the story of the dog who fell in the well. Its owner, the farmer, thought it had died and wanted to give it a burial and so he began to take his shovel and pour dirt into the well. What he didn’t see is that every time dirt came in over the dog, he would shake it off and step on the dirt. The more dirt that the farmer threw in, the more he would shake off and step on top until the farmer had filled the well with dirt. And guess what? The dog walked out shaking off the last bit of dirt to freedom.

So, it may look like things are over for you and that your circumstances are poised to win the day, but you shake it off and you keep on stepping, because when it’s all over, God knows how to bring you out more than a conqueror. His plan is to bring you out in victory.
