The Names Of God

DAY 3 OF 3

Knowing the names of God will lead us into deeper worship of Him.

The reason people stand in line to receive the autograph of a ball player is because they know the value of that name and the fame and achievements that the name signifies.

As David looked around at the greatness of God’s creation, he came to a proper understanding of his position before this awesome creator God:

“What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him?” (Psalm 8:4).

The result of knowing the names of God is that awe and worship are invoked within us as we come to a right accounting of the greatness of the God we serve.

Learning the names of God will result in a more meaningful relationship with Him. We experience a dependent, childlike faith and a deeper worship, when we learn His names. And, like David, you will find yourself coming to know this God experientially: “O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth!” (Psalm 8:9).

Does your worship reflect a right accounting of the greatness of the God we serve?
