DAY 1 OF 5

Created by Love, in Love, to Love

You and I are not an accident. We have been loved into life by God. We are here, not because God is lonely and needs some company, but because He wants us to be here. Every one of us has something special to do in this life. An old tradition affirms that “God sends each person into this world with a special song to sing, with a special message to deliver, with a special act of love to bestow. No one else can sing my song, deliver my message, or offer my act of love. These are entrusted only to me.”

We have been created by love, in love, to love. Today we remember this. Each of us is called to make God’s love real to others in a unique way. There is a wonderful verse that affirms this: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Eph. 2:10, NIV).

We recover our passion in life when we dwell on this marvelous God-fact about ourselves: We are creatures of divine love, invited to bear the bright beams of God’s love into our world.

Take a few moments to imagine your mother during her pregnancy with you. Think of her carrying you for nine months and then eventually giving birth to you. In that moment a new reality entered this world that had never existed before: you!

The same God whose love brought into being the entire universe, the stars and the sun and the earth (see Nehemiah 9:6), brought into being the miracle that is your one life. Give thanks for your unique life, which matters immensely to God, and allow His delight in you to penetrate your heart.

About this Plan

Towards A Closer Walk With God By Trevor Hudson

This 5-day reading plan will remind readers that they are deeply loved by God. It emphasizes the importance of finding time in today’s busyness to spend time alone with the Lord. Each day features thoughts on a specific theme (e.g. quiet time; knowing you are divinely inspired) and ends with a Scripture verse. The content for this reading plan is based on Trevor Hudson’s “Towards a Closer Walk with God”.
