Into The Arms Of God

DAY 3 OF 5

Created the same

When you’re a believer in Christ, there is no room for prejudice because God has created every single one of us the same. In His eyes, we all have equal privilege – we all have equal access. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich. It doesn’t matter if you have a bunch of education or not. Every one of us steps forward with just as much Holy Spirit as Billy Graham, Peter, and anybody else.

There are no JV and varsity teams in Christianity. There is just the team of Christians, united in faith. But we separate anyway – oftentimes by what church we go to, by what our giftedness is, by whether we are good in public or not, by the ways that we can declare things, maybe because we are shy, because we are this or because we are that.

In the Kingdom it’s all one team. (Colossians 3:11) We are all of equal privilege. The words translated as equal privilege are the words that would be used in the Greek language for immigrants that became citizens – which meant they would have all the rights of born citizens. The Scripture is saying that God has created all folks equal in His eyes.

We have moved from darkness to light. We have moved from children of wrath to the children of God. We have moved from outside the family of God to inside the family of God. We have moved from the citizenship of the world to the citizenship of heaven. We now have the same rights and privileges and the same access to God. (Ephesians 4:7)

Every believer has the same value. That is an amazing thought. That is a blow-your-mind-away thought. That answers so many questions related to what we are trying to do and how we are trying to act as a culture and as a society.

Let’s take this thought that all people are loved by God. There is no question about it. God has created all men and women equal before His eyes. I don’t look down upon you because you are a woman. You don’t look down upon me because I am a man. We don’t look down upon each other because of racial reasons or age reasons. (Galatians 3:27-29) We say, “God has created us all. He loves every single one of us. Therefore, we should honor Him together as well instead of trying to jockey for position.” (Romans 8:16-17)

About this Plan

Into The Arms Of God

In the Trust Fall series, Pastor Gregg Matte takes us on a passage-by-passage journey through the Second Epistle of the Apostle Peter. The purpose of this series is to show us that we can fall back with confidence into our God’s safe arms. In this first reading plan of the series we learn that God has created us equal and with the same great opportunity of knowing Him. 2 Peter 1:1-2
