Chasing Away Anxiety

DAY 6 OF 6

Hello and welcome to this last session in this guided meditation series called "Chasing Away Anxiety".

This session is called "Perfectly Loved".

During this time I’ll be asking some questions and sharing my thoughts to help you become a more peaceful, clear and connected person. Find a quiet place, settle in.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath.

The Bible teaches us that love and fear are enemies. 1 John 4:18 tells us that perfect mature love casts out all fear. He goes on to say there is no fear in love because fear has to do with punishment. If we’re going to effectively chase anxiety away from our lives, we need to know that God is not punishing us. Some people live their whole lives afraid of God's punishment. These are people who go to church and think they know Him.

I want you to think about this: Jesus came to offer the world forgiveness for sin. He actually became sin in our place. If we are truly forgiven, then what is going to be punished? Anxiety creeps in when we are not sure of the forgiveness of God. Instead, we live like we are still in debt. The only debt we have after forgiveness is the debt of loving others well.

Hopefully, over the last six sessions together, you're beginning to experience a deeper love that God has for you.

I want you to ask God a question: God, am I afraid of being in trouble with You?

Do I hide or withdraw when I think I have failed?
Where did I first learn that I need to be afraid of your punishment?
Do I need to forgive someone? Or do I simply need to believe something better?

Do I know that I am deeply loved by God?
Does God celebrate the victories of my struggles in life?
Is God willing to carry me through times when I feel overwhelmed?
Do I understand, experience or know His love for me?
Am I paying attention to that love right now?

If you need to go through this series of meditations again, please feel free to do so. Beliefs are sometimes stubborn and need to be confronted again.

I'd like to say a final pray over you if I may.
Jesus, I thank You for our time together. Please bless my friend with peace. Bless them with a sense of power and connection. Wrap them in Your presence throughout the day today. Amen.

God bless you as you walk closely with the love of God today.
