Christ In You: Living Into Your Life's Purpose

DAY 3 OF 5

Christ Lives In You

When you first embraced Jesus, a wonderful and mysterious thing happened: Christ made you new. He took over your old life, made you a new creation in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17), and ushered you into the plans and purposes He designed for you.

Whatever is in your past, it no longer counts against you. Jesus Christ has redeemed you as His own and declared that you’ve been adopted into His family (Acts 17:28, Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6). You belong to Christ, and He is in you helping you live a life of faith and purpose.

Without Jesus in our lives, we’re limited to a narrow human perspective shaped by our culture, upbringing, and personal preferences and tendencies. We make decisions as best as we can, and God’s Spirit can still guide us toward the right path. But without faith, our decisions are often bound by what we see and know, and they don’t take into account what God might have planned in our futures.

But when Christ lives in you, you’re equipped to live by faith in Him who loves you and gave His life for you (Galatians 2:20). His Spirit gives you understanding (1 Corinthians 2:12-13), informs your decisions, and helps you step into future opportunities and adventures that you could never dream up on your own.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
