DAY 3 OF 14

All the Way My Savior Leads Me

What does it mean for God to lead us? God leads not like a politician leads his constituents, but as a Father leads a child, holding her hand, showing her the way by going before her, opening doors, helping her navigate the various obstacles on the path to their destination. Fanny Crosby grew up with a special appreciation for faithful leading, having been blind since her infancy. But more than that, she had an understanding of her need to be led through life by Christ, knowing that “we walk by faith, not by sight.” So it was with that faith that she trusted the Lord for her needs. In one instance, she was praying for God to meet a specific financial need she was facing, and just a few minutes later a stranger approached her, offering the exact amount of money that she needed. Fanny later explained, “I have no way of accounting for this except to believe that God put it into the heart of this good man to bring the money. My first thought was that it is so wonderful the way the Lord leads me.” It was this experience that inspired her to write “All the Way My Savior Leads Me.” What have we to ask besides the Savior’s leading? Though our weary steps may falter, all the way our Savior leads us!
