Boundaries Bring Freedom
At first, it may be hard to wrap your head around the concept that boundaries bringing freedom, but bear with us while we explain.
Envisioning boundaries often evokes negative responses such as lines that aren’t to be crossed, restrictions from what you want or crave, and, of course, being told ‘no’. None of us like to be told NO.
But, consider this. What if the boundaries kept you on the protected side of the fence? A place where you could relish in the joy and freedom God desires for you, while still being under God’s protective covering. Seems like the best of both worlds, doesn’t it? Pleasure without risk. Boundaries are starting to sound a bit more appealing, aren’t they?
Doing ‘whatever you want’ may sound attractive and exciting at first, but the thrill will quickly fade once reality sets in. If we stray away from God’s protection, we are left to our own devices and are a much more vulnerable target for Satan. Sure, without boundaries we can ‘do what we want’, but we are also then completely exposed to darkness and defenseless to fight against it. Living a life plagued with heartache, shame, pain, and regret isn’t freeing at all. Being more susceptible to temptation and evil won’t bring joy.
We believe boundaries bring freedom. Live fully within the boundaries God desires for your life and enjoy all the protection, grace, and love he has to offer. Spend time in Psalm 91 and find an abundance of reassurance and comfort in God’s promise to you.
What will you declutter? Living a life filled with pain and regret, being weak and defenseless against Satan, and the removal of God’s protection.
