The Stories We Tell: 28 Days Of Truth-Telling For The SoulSýnishorn
DAY 13 | TELLING SECRETS
centering thought
“Knowing and imitating Jesus reframes every situation, every time …”
encouragement from God’s word
Read: JEREMIAH 33:2-3
devotional direction
Who hasn’t spent an inordinate amount of energy wondering what life is about and why we’re here? Is there more to this life than living and dying and tending to mundane stuff in-between? What’s it all about, anyway? Where are we headed? And why? And when?
This verse from the prophet Jeremiah carries with it a profound promise indeed. When we are faithful to prioritize intimacy with Jesus, we gain knowledge known only by him. When we come to him with our frustrations and curiosities instead of settling for what our friends think, we’re given awareness and insight, understanding and power that we’ll find exactly nowhere else.
Are you wondering today about how you will scale a certain obstacle?
Are you worried about an aging parent, a wayward child?
Do you feel hopeless about an unexpected turn of events?
Is your strength for this life starting to fade?
Come and ask and seek and knock, trusting God to meet you with wisdom there. Believe that whatever situation you’re facing today can be reframed by his big-picture perspective, where all things work together for good.
question to ponder
When is the last time God divulged a secret to you? If he were to whisper one to you today, would you have ears to hear?

About this Plan
Based on the "The Stories We Tell: Real Women. Real Lives. Real Love" Church Edition. This twenty-eight-day devotional experience has been created for you to, in effect, think more carefully about what you’re thinking—about who you are and why you’re here and the role God longs for you to play in impacting the world around you for good. Consider carving out ten or fifteen minutes each day for twenty-eight days, during your first waking hours, perhaps, or just before you close your day and head to bed.
